Bearly Maths is run by Noah Bear Benson, who is responsible for the personal information described here. To ask anything about your information, message Noah on WhatsApp or by text on 07368 621749.

What we collect, and why

• Booking requests: your name, phone number and email, and the student’s name, age, level, exam board, what they’d like help with and anything else you choose to tell us. We use this to contact you and arrange lessons. It’s sent to Noah by email and isn’t stored in the website’s database.
• Waitlists: your email address and which waitlist you joined (a booked weekly time, or the general waitlist for new times). We keep it until you leave using the link at the bottom of any waitlist email, or ask us to remove you.
• Course updates: your email address. We keep it until we’ve told you the course has launched, or until you ask us to remove it.
• Messages sent through the website, WhatsApp, text or email, so we can reply.
• If you become a student: details needed to run lessons, and payment records, which we keep for as long as UK tax rules require.

Our reasons for using it

• To arrange and provide lessons you’ve asked for (taking steps towards, and carrying out, a contract with you).
• Waitlists and course updates are used because you asked to join them. You can leave at any time.
• Keeping financial records because the law requires it.

Who else handles it

We never sell your information. We use a small number of services to run the website and lessons:

• Cloudflare hosts the website and stores waitlist and course sign-ups.
• Resend sends the website’s emails.
• Our email provider, and WhatsApp if you message us there.
• Our payment provider, when you pay for lessons.

Some of these companies are based outside the UK. They protect personal information using safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

Cookies and other services

• The website doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
• The site’s fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers.
• If a YouTube video is shown on the site, YouTube only loads once you press play.
• The private admin area uses one essential cookie to keep the site owner logged in.

Students under 18

For students under 18, a parent or guardian books lessons and gives us the student’s details. We only ask for what we need to plan lessons.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop using it. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

We’ll update this page if anything changes, and change the date at the top.
